Environmental Committee

Everyone should be gratified to know that the comments IAAP submitted to Illinois EPA late last year were not only heard, but acted upon.  We, as a group and speaking as the industry, effected change to this permit with our actions. That is the payoff to your participation in IAAP’s environmental committee.

The IAAP is committed to its partnerships with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Illinois State Geological Survey and the US Environmental Protection Agency to ensure that the aggregates industry is a good steward of the Earth.  This involves a proactive approach to land, water, and air protection for present and future generations. To learn more about environmental challenges facing the aggregate industry and how they are being addressed, read the Aggregate Industry Environmental Challenges document.
