Education Foundation Scholarship Program

​The Education Foundation Scholarship helps support students enrolled at institutions of higher learning who plan to build a career in the aggregate mining industry.

The IAAP Scholarship Committee will award up to five (5) scholarships of at least $2,000 each.  
​These scholarships are a one-year grant. Students may re-apply in subsequent years.

Eligibility Requirements (printable)

  • Applicants must be enrolled or enrolling at an institution of higher learning (hereafter referred to as college). Students in their final year of high school may apply.

  • Applicants must have an Illinois connection through personal background, college location, or future career plans.

  • Applicant must be majoring, or intends to major, in a curriculum which will be compatible with a career in the aggregates industry such as (but not limited to) Trade Programs, Civil Engineering, Engineering Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Geological Engineering, Mineral Science or Mining Engineering.

  • Selection criteria are based in part on the applicant's financial need, character, attitude, community involvement, and achievements.

An applicant must submit the following information:

  1. Completed Application Form (see below)

  2. College transcript if you are now in college. (A photocopy is acceptable.)

  3. If you have been in college for one year or less, are still in high school, or have completed a high school equivalency program, submit your high school transcript or proof of completion.

  4. Original essay between 300 and 500 words in length:

    a) outline your interest in and/or connection to the Illinois aggregate industry;

    b) how your chosen field will apply to work in the Illinois aggregate industry;

    c) your goals;

    d) where you plan to attend college;

    e) why you chose to apply for this scholarship; and

    ​f) explain your financial need for the scholarship

Optional information you may include with your application:

  • Your FAFSA Student Aid Report or other proof of financial need.
  • One or two letters of recommendation.

Submit completed application using one of the methods below. Incomplete applications are subject to rejection.
