Governor to Extend Stay at Home Order with New Requirements for Employers

4/27/2020

Last week Governor Pritzker announced that he will be extending the stay at home executive order with modifications.  A draft of the new executive order which will take effect May 1st and be effective for 30 days is HERE.  Note that the new executive order maintains the exemptions for the entire mining and construction industry as essential businesses.  However, the executive order includes new requirements for essential businesses, including that they provide face coverings to all employees not able to maintain six-feet of social distancing.  While our industry is allowed to continue operations, it is absolutely critical that we adhere to social distancing and other safety guidelines.  See the IAAP website https://www.iaap-aggregates.org/covid-19-resources.html for the latest industry guidance and best practices.
