Sustainability Focus Topic: Zoning & Permitting

Earlier this year, the IAAP’s Sustainability Committee encouraged member companies to consider how what you are doing now, and plan to do in the future, can be affected by a good community relations plan to engage with your neighbors, community leaders, and the public at large.  While community relations remains one of the most important tools that can ensure success when seeking zoning and permitting of aggregate mines, a strategic plan and a framework to build it upon will ensure a mining company can remain sustainable by continuing to benefit your community and your employees.
